Santa Maria Airport in Costa Rica Buys CALKIT
Metalite is happy to announce that Alterra Partners, the operator of the Santa Maria Airport in San Juan, Costa Rica has placed a contract for the supply of a CALKIT system for July 2004.
The CALKIT system will be used to support the permanent runway lighting in case of failure. The CALKIT system will contain 66 CORELs, plus additional spares lenses to suit the airfield application. A single CALKIT can support a 1680 mtr Non Precision runway under VFR conditions and 2800 mtr long runway under IFR conditions.
This contract represents the first order for Metalite to the Central America region. However there are CALKIT systems in Guyana, Colombia, Barbados and the Dominican Republic.
