ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The portable PAPI can be supplied in quantities of 2 to provide an abbreviated "A" PAPI system or in quantities of 4 to provide a full PAPI system. The PAPI emits an internationally recognised split red/white signal at 3 pre-set levels of light intensity which comply with the night time settings of the CAA document CAP 168.
An inbuilt inclinometer allows the chosen glide path angles to be set prior to the PAPI being deployed in a wing bar on the port side of the runway approach. To ensure stability the portable PAPI is mounted on an individual base plate which is anchored to the ground. Once positioned on the base plate spirit levels within the PAPI allows the unit to be easily levelled before use.
The VIS PAPI can be fully operated either manually or by radio up to a distance of 4kms.
Two external rechargeable battery boxes collectively provide 8 hours of continuous operation at full intensity.
