Glasgow Prestwick Chooses Metalite's Easy Charge COREL Edge Light

Glasgow Prestwick International Airport (GPIA) has purchased Metalite's COREL edge lights for use during upcoming airfield rehabilitation work during the summer months. They are needed to close off parts of the airfield during the hours of darkness while engineering work is under way.

GPIA has been using the Metalite LE58 (MAPAL) light for many years and decided to replace these with the new drop in charging COREL.

Glasgow Prestwick joins a long list of airports in Scotland currently using the COREL and/ or CALKIT. These include Glasgow International Airport, Edinburgh International Airport, Aberdeen International Airport and up to ten Highland and Islands Airports.

The COREL can last for up to 16 hours and can be recharged in eight hours either by using the portable battery charger or on the CALKIT trailer. Its easily changed lens allows its use on runway, taxiway, threshold / runway end and for helicopter landing pad applications.

GPIA joins many international airports worldwide that use either CALKIT or COREL including recent customers such as Phoenix Sky Harbour International Airport (USA) and Juan Santa Maria International Airport (Costa Rica).
