USAF FMS Procures MOSKIT and SALKIT for Polish Land Forces

Metalite has been awarded a contract under the United States Foreign Military Sales Programme to supply Portable Airfield Lighting Systems for the Polish Land Forces. The contract consists of 7 MOSKIT and 2 SALKIT systems which will be supplied with a spares and training package.

Poland took delivery of its first MOSKIT in 2002 becoming, at that time, the ninth NATO country to use MOSKIT and the fifteenth country in the world to acquire the system.

MOSKIT is a self supporting trailer containing sufficient landing aids to operate a 1500m minimum operating strip in accordance with NATO type I and II minimum operating strips. MOSKIT and SALKIT systems have seen service with many armed forces around the world including the UK RAF and US Marines Corps in Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Iraqi Freedom (Iraq) as well as during missions in Bosnia, Kosovo, Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

MOSKIT is available for trials by interested parties where a demonstration can be arranged in the country of use.
